Excellente nouvelle, l'Arizona interdit les courses de lévriers

Arizona has officially become the 40th state to ban greyhound racing. Greyhounds in the state will no longer have to literally run for their lives.

The state was one of the first to legalize greyhound racing decades ago, but earlier this spring legislators passed a bill to end the practice by the end of the year. This month, Governor Doug Ducey made it official when he signed it.

“Greyhound racing has run its course in Arizona,” said Governor Ducey in a statement. “It’s heartening that these beautiful greyhounds will soon be off the track and in loving homes. For any families looking to adopt a new canine companion this summer, I encourage you to consider one of these gentle and intelligent dogs.”

The bill goes into effect January 1, 2017, but it looks like this abusive industry will come to an end in this state before the end of June. Tuscon Greyhound Park (TGP), the only operational track in the state, has gotten permission to shut racing down early and preparations are being made to rehome the dogs.

L'Arizona est officiellement devenu le 40ème état des U.S.A. à interdire les courses de lévriers. Une immense victoire pour tous les animaux massacrés, sacrifiés dans le système des courses et des paris.
Cette pratique sera bannie dès janvier 2017. Les protecteurs américains pensent que cette industrie de la souffrance et de l'abus sur animal se verra mise à mal dès la fin Juin 2016. En effet, le TGP, Tuscon Greyhound Park, seul canidrome opérationnel de cet état, a obtenue la permission de stopper les courses plus tôt et des opérations d'adoption sont en cours.

Une belle phrase du Gouverneur DUCEY :

"Je suis très ému que ces beaux animaux sortent enfin des "boites" pour partir dans des foyers aimants. J'invite toutes les familles cherchant à adopter un nouveau compagnon à penser à ces chiens gentils et intelligents."
